Can You Build A Wide Back Without Lat Pulldowns???

Chinups/Pullups are open-chain (or closed?) movements, the opposite of lat pulldowns. The same general movement, but recruits more muscle fibers and motor units. Thus, more stimulation and better development overall.
 
I haven't done a lat pull down in SOOOO long. Not sure I can remember when.

My little lats are proof. ;)

this is what i do:

deads 5x5
Bent over rows 3x8 reps
chins 2 sets to failure

i alternate this per week with:

Bent over rows 5x5
one arm rows 3x8 reps
good mornings 3x15 reps

this has given me pretty good results
