Different kinds of body weight exercises: box jumps, all kind of foot work etc combined with strength training.

i'm all for strength training and it is very important, but you would be surprised how many people think that just doing that will make them better runners. at the end of the day just like any skill doing it will yield the best results
 
You can do regular weight lifting exercise, but just focus on exploding on the positive portion of the lift.

Speed squats, Speed overhead dumbbell press etc etc
