back muscles keep getting pulled

Excerpt: I have this problem the past few weeks where when i train my shoulders doing dumbbell shoulder presses i seem to pull muscles in both my back and neck/traps. it feels like a rubber brand snapping and then i am super sore in that specific area. anything i am doing wrong that would be causing this? i am stretching plenty before my workout.

    back muscles keep getting pulled

    don't stretch before your workout!! not sure how many times i have to explain this simple science on these forums.

    you should be WARMING UP. especially those of you who live in cold climates.

    stretch AFTER your workouts, not before.

    The warm up I do is to press with the bar (usually 20 reps).

    Make sure you rest it and give it time to heal before hammering away again too.

    try a different exercise... a machine perhaps that will support more
