Anyone else do lunges?

I almost always do these on leg day, but they dont get mentioned much here.

Typically I do walking lunges with a dumb bell in each hand, good compound exercise vs doing hamstring curls. And you need good form or its hard on your knees!!!

Is there an advantage of hamstring curls over walking lunges?
 
i probably should do them, but i feel awkward doing them. i hate working one leg at a time. i like working my legs at the same time instead of alternating
 
i would say there is way more isolation in hamstring curls but i feel lungs are an awesome exercise for balance and more of a all around leg builder.
 
I do them every w/o....10 strides per leg = 1 set - usually 4 sets last in the w/o with 40-5- dbs

I do them stationary striding onto an aerobic step or something similar. I do them on my quad dominant day along with squats and feel I really get a lot out of it. I am going to add in walking lunges again soon on my hamstring day I think.
