when I was young the cat ate the dogfood, the dog at the catfood, and I can recall pushing them both aside and eating both the catfood and dogfood.
the catfood was slightly metallic and very crunchy, the soft dog food was tangy and has a nice press on the molars. not the glop from a can, but chunks that had some sort of gravy.
