Somewhere there is a way that you can turn a feature on that opens a window in fields that you type in or do searches in. Example if I'm on Yahoo and do a search-if I type the first letter or hit the down arrow key a box opens up showing everything I have typed there or everything begginning with that letter. How do I turn it on and off?

For Internet Explorer:

Tools / Internet Options / Content / Autocomplete

choose the tick boxes you want / don't want to apply

you might have to close out all of your IE windows and then open one up again so as to clear the settings.
sometimes you need to do this, sometimes not - after various patches sometimes it caches info, sometimes not.
closing out clears the cached info (not just page caches, but settings as well).

Yeah it can be annoying and embarassing when evertime I try to put in a word beginning with a 'b' I get Big Black Bitches as a suggestion ;)
