whoa, common sense I obviously dont have lol... i thought jesus was just born to die on the cross with nothing important in between...

Had the event's themselves not been important, you would never have heard his name. 3 people died on a cross with Jesus that day. Do you know their names, or crimes?? No. How many men were killed in the same fashion? You know Jesus because of the event's that led up to his death... not just because he died on a cross.

As I understand, the bible says nothing about Jesus actually being carpenter, only that he was the son of a carpenter.

Why are his years between boyhood and preaching missing? To get the plot moving.

Well I assumed he was a carpenter too because they really didn't go to school or anything they usually helped in the family business.

Recognize that it is only an assumption.(a fairly likely one if you believe the whole story) You can´t say for sure though.

Jesus' younger years are chronicled, they are just not accepted as "enlightened" works by the catholic church, so they didn't "make the cut" to get into the Bible.

I had an assignment last year to research Jesus’ human side...it was absolutely fascinating. I'll dig it up and post some of the info I found.

I am constantly fascinated by people's willingness to beleive that a man who walked the earth 2000 yrs ago was the creator of all that is was and ever will be.......all because a little book that has been written and rewritten hundreds of times, say's so. There is a historical account of a man named Jesus who caused some commotion around the time that the bible say's he walked the earth......but past that there is no mention of him being able to do things that were attributed to him in the bible. I think if a man was able to really do the things that Jesus supposedly was able to do, he would have attracted more attention from historians and writers of that time. He probably did though, but we all know a couple hundred years after his death there was a massive hunt for any and all literature related to him, and they were subsequently burned. Only a few works that "vaguely" mention him survived. If I'm not mistaken was it not King Saul who was repsonsible?? Anyway, I also find it amusing how his look has changed throughout the years. Some say they don't care what he looked like, but it just goes to further discredit his historical account when people change his look to a particular region. You'd think that people wouldn't mess with god's look. I mean, if I was god and I came to earth looking a certain way.....I'd be kind of pissed if people kept fucking with my image. This is the way I presented myself, so quit fucking it around damnit!!

Oh well, I still beleive in god.....I just don't have the arrogance to assume that
A. I am made in "it's" image
B. "It" would deem it appropriate to manifest itself to us.
