where should i try to keep my calories

Am starting a cutting cycle in Jan.....

I'm 6'2 299lbs.....I have 230lbs of lean mass.....am wanting to drop the fat....am never interested in posing trunks or shaving my leggz....

What should be my cal intake to maintain muscle and lose the fat...

Don't worry about the calories so much as:

Keep the protein about 30 grams a meal
Keep the carbs about 20 to 30 grams a meal

and eat 6 times a day

Avoid Dairy, fatty meats, and sugars.

and take in at least 2 gallons of water.

Not enough protein. If you weigh 290 lbs you need at least 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight. 30grams per meal at 6 meals is 180 grams. You need at least 45 grams of protein a meal as a minimum if not more if your going to cut. If your going to cut you will need to drop your carbs so the remainder of your calories have to be made up somewhere else which means protein. Check around some other posts for exact information.
 
Your protein theory is up for debate. And I usually base protein intake on LBM not total weight. But, It would not hurt to add more protein just keep the carbs where they are.
