What's your motivation?-down for the count

I know what your saying bro. For me it was hurting my back and taking to many painkillers, which caused me to lose everything. Then my brother got wounded in Iraq, and going to Walter Reed for several months and seeing what those guys are going through, I mean i saw guys with just one limb left who were giving it all they had. I said to myself its time to quit being a punk and be the man that you know god created you to be, which is a succesfull one. I believe he wants us all to think that way. Buts its our choice. Think of the good pride you will have when things start going right again and you realize you kept hittin it through it all, youll feel unstoppable.

the gym is my stress relief. lifting can be very meditative in a way. My whole world is reduced to the focus of "getting that motherfucker UP" which clears my head to deal with all the other crap again when i'm done.

I agree bro.

take some pics of yourself and give yourself a shorter term goal like 3 weeks from that pic and have a realistic goal x amount of weight u want, and x amount increase in your lifts. Keep doing that every 3 weeks; take pics of yourself so u can see your progress. Just make short goals. September is the long term goal but don't focus on that. Gains will come sooner than you think. Give yourself at least 1 hr per day to cardio or lift. If you got more time other days, hit it longer. Stock your food for the week and eat all day long. You'll get motivated by the sheer fear of failure to miss your little goals. Good luck bro.

Thanks you guys. You gave me some good insights into things I thought I already understood. Sometimes it helps to hear things from another perspective.

The very fact that you're concentrating on what's getting in the way is the problem. No one ever acheived anything by getting sympathy. If you're looking for motivation, you'll probably fail. It's the guy who has everyone telling him it's hopeless and he does it anyway who succeeds.

Nelson, You are so close to expressing a great truth I learned a long time ago and should have put before me. "What you're attention is upon, you become." In no way am I looking for sympathy. It's a waste of time and I don't keep people around me who want to express their hopeless beliefs on my life.
