What is the stupidest gym advice you have ever heard?

stupidiest advice :

- A dude in my old gyn said : Russians have better calves cause they have a special food program for growing calves . (!!!!)

-to get ripped abs do 100 reps of situps a day.

I haven't read this whole thread so maybe someone has posted this, but the worst I've heard recently is that "you should do everyt set of every exercise to failure".

Well, I started working out at a health club about a year ago. I was pretty overweight when I first started. I asked the personal trainer what would be good for putting on muscle. The skinny personal trainer told me that I would need to do just cardio and go very light on the weights. He told me that if I did heavy weights it would put too much on me. Well, the other day he comes up to me and tells me that I should have listened to him. I guess he was right. Now instead of looking tone and thin I've been suffereing with a side effect from heavy weights that causes me to look bigger and muscular. I can't stand to look in the mirror anymore. My arms and chest have grown so much that it is very hard to be around people without them staring at me in shame. Dammit, why did the weights do this to me? If I would have just listened to the 135 pounder now I look horrible!

Do deca and fina. They are the 2 safest compounds you can use and have no side effects.

Just remembered this one. This old guy "teaches" this kid how to do flat dumbbell presses. So he goes on and on, and then is like at the end of the movement you have to throw your body forward to put the dumbbells down. He keeps going on and on how important it is to throw your body forward.

WHAT THE FUCK???
