Nah, it actually stems from tradition first, but it is in the bible as well, and I was having fun with the Christians.

They've effectively removed everything else in the bible which contradicts bible only, so we bust their chops as to when they plan on removing Mathew as well

All well and good maing, but be careful assuming it matters to you not to take it to far out of context. He was addressing the lengthy list of specific laws and rituals which were inherent to the jewish faith especiually at that time. It was a very legalistic faith. Just the kosher laws alone......
