hiit will spike your heart-rate then drop it.....but i def see your point high intensity cardio for long periods of time will end up making you look like stick figure lol. I'm pretty sure Defensive lineman also do plenty of hiit traing but weight train different and eat more than wide reciecers because endurance, speed,agility, and power is a must for any defensive linemanWide receivers not the bulky players look at defense of line offensense of line, not known for there running speed just very conditioned, any many of them quick burst routines are not taking heartrate at a constant high numbers, not to mention the diets on these guys are more then most of us can afford, u dont usually see body builders running much mostly doing stairs and elipticals
