What do you HATE about the holidays?

Well, I know that my family gets along. We may not ALWAYS get along, but I have nothing but great Christmas memories with my family.

My husband's side of the family I couldnt possibly love any more ....and I actually have almost a better time with his side than mine!

And the gift giving is really the GIVING part.

I'm so excited about giving my (hopefully soon to be brother in law) this stupid beer pong sign that I got on ebay. Its a dumb gift I know, but I know he will like it and I cant wait to give it to him!! That part is really fun, and what I look forward to during the holidays.....

I seem to recall the title of the thread was what you HATE about the holidays. Starting around mid November I start living for January 1.

Thanksgiving and Christmas blow. Thanksgiving particularly blows if you have allergies to the main foods that are pushed. Christmas blows if you aren't a child or materialistic. Both holidays blow if your family was dysfunctional or, if not dysfunctional, are now all dead (ah, those warm fuzzy memories of daddy punching mommy out because the thankgiving mashed potatoes were lumpy, good times, good times ...)

I mean seriously people, if your trying to get your kid something and you have to be mean and jerkasses about it, is it really worth it?

I hate the pressure of trying to get good gifts, without going bankrupt. I've got a few ideas, but I need to come up with a lot more, and soon.

The fact that people can't "feel" the holiday season without having to go cut down a healthy 20 year old tree. Nothing says Christmas like wasting our natural resources.

I`m just sick of the over-indulgence of gifts and shopping and crap . Christmas used to mean more to me.
