man, that totally blows.

in January, get your FAFSA forms and fill them out. send them in ASAP. i dunno what you can do between now and the end of the year to get set up for Spring semester though. i'm sure if you hound the school's financial aid department, they can come up with something.

i can afford to go to school only because i get the grants and student loans. if they were to fall through, i'd be in the same boat you are and i'd be pretty upset.

good luck bro. seriously.

Having always paid for my college with my own money, or with scholorships, I was unaware of how long it takes to get student loans...

Coming from someone who went to a private liberal arts school , I always filed those formsthe semester before. It does take a while to go through. But I thought Texas A&M was a public school so should be cheap tuition. Do you have to pay that up front? My school had payment plans

AAh you didn't want to keep going to Texas A&M anyway. Move a few hundred miles east to Baton Rouge. LSU is an A&M school that actually has a winning football team :-) Well this year national championship team.

I feel yah BBF. I just dropped $3.5 k on a years tuition.... college sucks. Oh and I still need to pay for my books dammit.

$33-3400/semester tuition and fees here. i go to a state school. there's not a chance i'd want to pay back the loans i'd need to go to a private school, at least for my Bachelor's degree.

now once i'm done with that, i'll be more than willing to take out the excessive amount of loans in order to get through law school, but that's going to be more than worth it in the end.

hopefully.

I couldn't get the grants I needed to cover my tuition dispite being an honor student, and then tried to put in for student loans, but they have not been approved fast enough, so I was dropped from my classes.

I know it's too late , but have you looked at the scholarships they have. If your an honor student , you are bound to qualify for a some. And since Texas A&M is a big school there 's should be hundreds of them.

Hey man , I know I joke too much when I prolly shouldn't but I left school in the middle of getting my Computer Science degree. I've been paying for that ever since. I've lost out on some opportunities that required it because of politics. Now that I've been working for the last 10 years, it's darn near impossible for me to stop and go back to school. Don't worry about the spilled milk. My advice to you is do what you have to do until spring semester. If you have to live with relatives , then so be it. If you start working buy a car and put junk on credit cards (which all yound people do) then you won't be able to stop the job to go back to school.

i was lucky and got a full grant this year. i only pay like $18 a class plus cost for books...hopefully i'll get the same next year....sorry to hear it though bro, been in the same boat before, and I had to take out $1500 for school and still havent paid on it yet hhahah

No, I plan on doing whatever it takes to finish. I'll get everythign together for the spring, now that I realize how much time somethings take, and just load up heavy after taht. 20 hours a semester or so. I rarely study anyways. I'm a speed reader with a high renention rate, so I never study and makes primarily A's. If I take out loans, I can afford to take alot of classes and not work much, and since I do not have any, taking them out now will not really get me that deep into debt.

On the bright side for all of you going to school now, the repayment rate on student loans now is like 2%. When I started repaying it was more like 12% Student loans are not so bad now. Getting into debt didn't have the meaning that it had in the 90's But the other things like the visa
