LA gets a bad rap. The crime in LA is not as bad as everyone makes it seem. Just don't piss of any gang members or do something stupid. There are some areas that are very bad such as Compton. Compton is ranked as the 15th most dangerous city and Richmond, CA is the 11th in america based on the government's crime index. Compton is not as bad as many places in Atlanta, NYC, Chicago, Detroit, or Philly. You won't get shot or jumped just by driving thru Compton. There are some cool places in compton such as Roscoe's. The south bronx in NYC is much, much, worse than Comton or Inglewood.
