too much protein?

Is there any limit as to how much protein you should consume in one meal. Would making 2 sandwiches out of 2 cans of tuna for one meal be too much or am i ok.

Dont quote me but I think your body can only process about 50g uless you take something to aid the digestion process.....I believe ginger root is supposed to increase the amount of protein that can be digested......

diamonddiceclay, why 60-75 g ?
Arms246, why 50 g ?

I don't think there is a limit of protein that can be digested
I have never seen any study about it

And it would depend on your weight, metabolism, activity, genetics,...

They are just going by X's theory on it. Guy A says you can take in only 30g/meal, Guy B says 70... etc etc.

All those are a bunch of theories... What we need is proof not some dumb nut pulling numbers out of his ass.

just make sure you have a good fiber supplement... the more protein
real food should be allright (oatmeal, whole wheat bread, fruit and vegetables,....)

the tougher your shit should get!
why ???

carbs help out a little bit when it comes time to take a dump. Fiber helps the most... But yeah I notice it too when taking high protein and too little carbs or fiber, constipation is around the corner.

Doesnt protein convert into glucose if too much is eaten? RD

Yes.. and that's one of the biggest misconceptions on this board. Diamonddiceclay is one of the guys responsible for this. He thinks you can eat a ton of protein and not get fat. And that's simply not the case. Unused energy will get stored, it doesn't just magically get pissed out.
