The End of Bullshit Movement

I'm declaring war on bullshit.

My proposal:

1. We post a sticky thread that perpetually lists the current "state of the art" supplements. No brand names - just substance names.

For example, many fads come and go, but some supplements are considered foundational by almost every body builder (for example: protein, creatine, glutamine ...)

This list would only include substances that are relatively undisputed in their effectiveness.

2. If someone proposes an addition (or replacement) for the list, it must live up to the scrutiny of the entire community, be backed up by actual science, have a volume of reported annecdotal evidence from members of this community.

This way, a new guy can come in and get an answer to his burning question: where the f*** do I begin?

OK, here's a first stab:

Core Essentials:

Glutamine
Whey Protein
Diet High in Protein, Low in Processed Foods, Low in Non-essential Fats
EFAs (via flax oil or a balanced 3 - 6- 9 blend)

Muscle Gain Tools:

Creatine

Fat Loss Tools:

The ECA Stack

All of the above being relatively undisputed by most everyone in the bodybuilding community as effective.

Are there more?

Multi vitamin and mineral

Glucosamine/chondroitin + MSM

BCAAs and the various other amino acids in isolation (especially arginine and lysine)

Bobby - sorry I said "no brand names" - we're trying to make this an objective piece of knowledge without marketing messages.

Tatayana - right on! Especially MCM/Chondroitin/Glucosamine for joints. I think that's been in use for about 8 years now rather consistently and deserves a spot on the list without question. BCAA's ... any objections?

Now - can I edit my initial post so I can keep the updated list as a running tally of the results as people reply?
