Last year was a bitch in my mustang through those ridiculous blizzards here. I couldn't go anywhere those days with RWD. I almost died twice in one day on I-15 while traveling 20mph.

I need an AWD car. Maybe I'll sell the stang and get a subaru or something. I'd miss the 470hp though.

Get the sti and it'll be faster, handle better, and better on gas than the 'stang. I'm right up by the base of Big Cottonwood Canyon. The pile of snow I had from shoveling was higher than my head almost all winter. I got a snowblower this year, which basically guarantees a dry winter.

Better gas mileage? no. I get 26 on the highway with shorter gearing than stock. I'd be around 27-28 with stock gearing.

My stang is supercharged so it wouldn't be faster.

Stock for stock, yeah the STI is faster.

It would definitely outhandle the mustang for sure. Stang's handling isn't that great, and the STI handling is almost unmatched. Especially for the money. The only other car that would out handle the STI is the EVO for a similar price.


The STI braking performance is also WAY better than the stangs. something I find to be important a I like to go fast from time to time. My poor stock rotors on my stang are already warped, and the car only has 14K miles on it. That's from braking at high speeds and canyon driving though. Not because the stock rotors are that crappy.

So you're saying u live in a place without snow and ice?

FWD's are for people that don't know how to drive in snow and ice.


I too prefer a RWD.
