Testosterone levels and low fat diet

I was wondering if it possible to screw up your natural testosterone levels from being on a bad diet of too low of fat for too long? Before I learned about eating properly, I was on a messed up diet for about a year of almost no fat, and I'm just a little concerned that maybe I have messed my natural test levels up now due to it. Any info is appreciated.

I know that low fat diets aren't good for increasing natural test levels. I'm not sure of the mechanism at work, but there is a significant relationship. I know steriods are formed from cholesterols and the more fat you consume the more cholesterol you take in so...

Many advocates of natural ways to boost test levels say eat higher fat diets.

If i remember correctly, one thing that Flaxseed oil does is help your test levels. Red Meat also helps as well... it may be the fat that helps.

Cholesterol is not a life-threatening toxin, but a medium-sized molecule that is really a building block for important parts of the body. In particular it is an essential component of cell membranes. Cholesterol also stabilizes a cell against temperature changes. It is a major part of the membranes of the nervous system, the brain, the spinal cord and the peripheral nerves. In particular it is incorporated into the myelin sheath that insulates the nerves from the surrounding tissue.

Cholesterol is also the forerunner of important hormones such as the female sex hormone, oestradiol, and the male sex hormone, testosterone, and of vitamin D, which we need in order to utilize calcium and form bone.

Cholesterol is found in sat. fats right? How many sat fats would one need to consume to keep their hormones in balance? Also what are some good choices to eat while cutting? Right now I get most of my fat intake from flax seed oil, olive oil, and peanuts..

I think if you consume more than the RDA you'll be fine. There is definitely a fine balance-you should eat too much fat as that can be bad for your arteries and you'll end up storing some (ie getting fat), but you should definitely eat more than the RDA.

The 40-30-30 diet has always sounded like a good diet (40 carbs-30 pro-30-fat) You have to have carbs to function properly-I'm not a big fan of CKD diets. Plus this is more protein. And plenty of fat. Eat good fats and you'll be okay. Just my .02.

Bump on fhg43. I am a fan of 40-30-30, esp while cutting. Studies have shown that testosterone levels increase in direct proportion to the levels of fat in the diet.
