Terrible cramping! HELP!!!

Krazycanuck

New member
Lately I have been cramping up something fierce. Mainly arms and chest. Water intake is high and I have been supplementing taurine in my protein shakes.
Any other suggestions

magnesium

everyone says potassium but I find magnesium helps more for myself

Oh man. Do not overdose taurine!!!
Sweet baby Jesus!!!
I haven't had the sh*ts that bad since a food poisoning episode an few yrs back!!!

600mg potassium
1000mg of taurine

Dont take more than two cups of coffee in junction with taurine.

What are your reasoning with limiting the caffeine +taurine combo? From what I'm seeing and am experiencing, 5 grams of taurine is not unusual, and sometimes required.

Ok, before we start telling the poor guy to start throwing all kinds of extra minerals down his throat, let's apply occam's razor LOL

The simplest explanation is usually the truth.

Krazy, what is your diet currently like? Are you drinking a lot of coffee, energy drinks, pre-workouts, or other kinds of caffeine?

Honestly, I was having a similar bad cramping problem, especially during workouts, and a buddy of mine simply said, "How's your sodium? And are you drinking a lot of caffeine?"

Like you, I drink a lot of gatorade, so I figured that my sodium was fine, but i DID drink an energy drink every day. I dropped energy drinks altogether, and within 2 weeks the cramping stopped completely. I've barely had an energy drink since, and haven't had a single cramp to speak of at all.

So instead of throwing down on handfuls of taurine, potassium, sodium, and magnesium; try taking a look at what you're doing now, and see if simply refraining from something might fix the issue for you.

remember, simpler is probably better.

Great advise
I may have one energy drink a week no more then that, dont drink coffee But I do take 1mr before most workouts.
I will cut that out and see if the problem persists.
Thanks
