Periodized training- competition cut by summer, need advise.

I follow periodized training cycles. (If you are unfamiliar with peridization, it's a series of training protocols for specific goals - cutting, hypertrophy, strength, etc.) I would like to compete in my first bodybuilding contest this summer, probably June. That gives me about four and a half to five and a half months. I've let my bf% slip and am currently about 16.5-17% blubber. I've never worked specifically to shed fat, and of course I wish to maintain as much muscle and strenght as possible. I will be taking in about 2g protein/kg body weight while progressively increasing caloric debt. Of course I'll up my cardio.

What type of weight training protocol(s), and in what order, should I follow? I do not want to struggle too much to lose fat when time runs out. On the other hand, I do not want to waste the mass I have built up.

I've just posted this on the "Training" board, but wanted to ask it here too. I am finishing my first cycle (on clomid now). Don't want to jump into more gear too soon. Any thoughts on clen, ECA, or even DNP are welcomed. Would anavar be worth it's price in this situation?

Well if you want to maintain as much muscle as possible you'll need some type of gear. Primo or Anavar would work well, especially right now as you try to get test levels back. Fina/winny is a great stack, and a little test prop thrown in would be nice too along with some arimidex.

2 weeks of Clen followed by 2 weeks of ECA throughout cutting alond with some T3 would help shed pounds pretty quickly, just make sure you're on something or the T3 will eat muscles as well.

As far as training, I tried German Body Comp/Meltdown type training with pretty shitty results. I like to keep workout volume lower, focus on core exercises, weights as heavy as possible, and add HIT cardio in the morning. The rest is diet.

This is what has worked for me, but I really want to learn to diet better. Giving you a solid bump!

Growin' thanks for the input. I may consider var or primo but I'm not sure I want to bridge. Any recomended minimum dosages? (I'm trying to save up for my next cycle!)

I'd prefer to stay away from T3 but like the 2 week clen, 2 week ECA idea. In your opinion (or anyone reading this) would the clen help me hold on to some muscle?

As for training, whats the consensus? Stay heavy and increase cardio? Light weight high duration?
