Newb question ... difference btwn. doc prescribed and illegal steroids? (in the USA)

Hi, I apologize if this is a stupid question, but I used the search function and couldn't get an answer.

What is the difference between the steroids a doctor could legally prescribe for you, and steroids that are illegal in the u.s.?

Are doc-prescribed steroids much less effective at putting on muscle?

Does the doctor prescribe the same steroids except that they are much lower dosage? Are they oral, injectable, or would it be the testosterone gel you put on your nuts?

I made an appointment with my doc this week. I plan on telling him that I have no sex drive and no energy and feel lethargic. Would that be enough to get a prescription?

Thanks, let me know.

The docs can prescribe test, deca, anavar, GH, insulin, which are the same as their black market versions (which are just diverted from pharmacies). Docs, however, prescribe to cure illness. Building "freaky" muscles takes supra-physiologic doses. Also, docs can't prescribe eq or tren, and other useful compounds. Some people like to get test from their doc and add to it with black market. I'm not sure why . . . I guess the reasoning is there is more schedule III confusion if you have some prescribed, and that may be helpful in legal trouble, but I doubt it. Legitimate U.S. doctors do not do "big cycles". Enlightened and educated docs can be helpful with PCT or health monitoring (cholesterol, prostate, etc) however. Hope this helps.

I think you are going to find it difficult to get away with that. the first thing your doc is going to do is run a lot of tests to check your levels. He will more than likely know what you are trying to do.That is kinda like taking your car to the dealer under warranty and saying it just isnt running right. They are gonna do a little diagnostics to verify that before they throw a new motor in. I think that is a dead end bro, especially considering most docs dont know a lot about gear. Just like what was stated above, even if you do get a script it wont be the amount that you will need it for. Good luck

Thanks for the advice. It sounds like even if he does prescribe something, it won't be enough to have an effect.

Damn

dont even think about it bro...
First of all he will perform a lot of blood tests on you in order to check your hormone levels and obviously he will find out that everything is ok with you...Even if there was indeed a problem, he would just presrcibe an amp of test every 2 weeks or a tab of proviron every other day..... :mix:

On top of what everyone else has said already, the symptoms of lethargy and decreased libido are attributed from various origins. Since you are claiming you have a problem, the situation may become complicated due to a fact that the doctor may be searching for a reason. Then, a misdiagnosis is possible and he may suggest medication that is not even neccessary.

I attempted to get a prescription for Nolvadex once. I really didn't have any symptoms and I described the discomfort and claimed my nipples were more swollen than average. He prescribed me an anti inflamatory and insisted that I follow up with him.
