New Gym Concept No Fatties allowed

New member
New gym idea, to join men must be below 15% and woman must be below 20%, and if you every exceed these limits you are kicked out.......

That's kind of fucked up dude. Where do you think people should go to lose the weight...After all, we all have to start somewhere.

Don't give the beautiful a bad name.

The fatties that flood the gym this time of year keep my gym in business and my dues down. However, it is a pain putting of with the fat newbies.

fiatdumbass is more like it. I suppose you were 220 @ 6% when you first starting lifting eh?

Isn't the point of lifting to go from a skinny/fatty physique to that of a Greek god? Kind of hard when only Greek gods are allowed to go to the gym, don't you think?

How are you supposed to get in shape in the first place then, man? This doesn't make sense to me.

Ahhhhh....Don't get me started this morning Fiat. :)

What you are suggesting would of course be an ideal situation for those of us that are already dedication to the fitness lifestyle. But I also know that all new members that are flooding into the gym today in search for a miracle are also financing my paycheck and hopefully a raise.

I guess for myself, if a 1/3 of the of the new memebers stick to their resolutions, this year will be a success. And for the other 2/3....well my guess is they will be nothing but a memory in about 3 weeks.

Fiat - I know what you mean.

Working at a club, we are flooded with newbies who purchase a year's membership on Jan 1 and quit by Mar 1.

We ran the number last year.

135 NEW members joined between Dec 15th 2000 and Jan 15th 2001.

The number of members who were still coming by Dec. 15th of this year: 45

For those who don't know, that is a damn good ratio.

That being said, the other 90 people generally wasted their time while in the gym. They were convinced that 45 minutes on the bike was better than weight training combined with elliptical trainer.

B-4 the flames start. I have ZERO problem helping anyone to the best of my ability. I am paid to do just that and I love it. Helping someone believe that they can acheive whatever goal they have is an awesome feeling.

The players in the gym who believe "I have a personal trainer. Therefore I am not responsible for my success or failure" can suck my big fat one, as my hero once said.

this thread was a offshoot from another thread..... it was just a idea..... and having been more into power lifting for a long time I probably would not have been allowed into the hallow halls of the lucky few who manage to maintain 6% bodyfat.... sigh.... closer to 300lbs at 20%!
