NOW Nutrition has 10 lb boxes for usually about $15. Just do a search for NOW Nutrition. I think they call the product Carbo Powder or something stupid like that. It is pure maltodextrin.

because its a complex carbohydrate. i like to make huge maltodextrin shakes when i carb up. i dont think its much better than dextrose though i take both

Technically maltodextrin is a complex carb because it has more than 2 molecules. Maltodextrin is a string of glucose molecules. Mono and disaccharides are usually referred to as sugars. Dextrose(aka glucose) is a monosaccharide.

But maltodextrin and dextrose are practically the same on the glycemic index. They both have a score of 100.

This is because maltodextrin is glucose polymers with weak bonds. It acually starts breaking down in your mouth by an enzyme called ptyalin.

So maltodextrin and dextrose are interchangeable. Dextrose is sweeter and disolves better.

www.supplementdirect.com is cheaper than proteinfactory. I believe they sell it for half the price.

Maltodextrin is the reason I don't use MRP's. I prefer to use a straight Milk Protein Isolate and oatmeal for my "meal replacement."
