Im on a low carb diet and Im consuming 50/100gr of carbs daily most or all of it post-workout... sometimes I crave a sweet when I wake up in the middle of the night...it would be OK to eat a Atkins bar? The label says 0 sugar but 2gr of carbs...These 2grams of carbs would cause a insulin spike!?!?!
I dont know why but I trully believe on the carb % of Atkin bars but I dont believe on EAS, Labrada, met-rx etc... They CANT be so low in carb and low in fat at the same time...If they are low in carbs you need more fat to make the bar and I also read an article saying that the FDA is asking EAS etc to change their labels cause new research showed "hidden" carbs on EAS etc protein bars...Hidden carbs = glicerin.... Although EAS says that glicerin does not count as carbs cause dont affect insulin some diabetic people were feeling sick after consuming some protein bars and thats why labrada changed their "Low Carb bar" to "Carb watcher"
