volunteer? Not around here. Man, I used to know some bros...but that was long ago. A bro of mine might know some guys in SF.

And there's tons of hot women here.

maybe not in s.cal, but the majority of muni firefighters are volunteer across the country.
percentage of paid is like 12% i think...socal has so many fire resources straining the budget...city, state, county and feds.
i'd be worried if i was paid by the state of CA, the gravey train will only last so long.
calfire would be the outfit for me to get on with though, that's where my experience would matter most since they are all response.
