What if she didn't want me to come get her? What if she didn't want me in her life? Am I supposed to force her to want to be with me because I had her? I come waiting at the door, AND I've paid her bail and she refuses to come with me, what do I do?
I don't know much about hell; I'm not sure it is eternal because of some conflicting verses I ran across a couple months ago. I just don't know that for sure right now. I'm not sure what else to say about that. Sorry. Let's just assume it's eternal for the argument right now since you posted those verses and I can see them right now. Even though I'm not confident hell is eternal; I believe personally that I deserve it anyway. Who am I to tell a holy God how he should punish me? He gave me a choice, and he paid the price for me. Why would I turn that down?
Well, I suppose if she would rather suffer an unimaginable torture for eternity, than escape it by just going with you, then I suppose she could stay. I can't imagine anyone doing that, after having experienced that "hell" though (lol!).
Maybe you could just destroy her "eternal soul"? To spare her, ya know?
You came across contradicting/conflicting verses in a perfect, inerrant book guided by the hand of a perfect, all knowing god who has the ability to preserve his word throughout time? How is that possible? Does God contradict himself? To use a phrase you've used, "is he a liar?"
If you're right about what you said earlier about what you believe the bible is (perfect, inerrant, etc.), then those contradictions can't be possible, can they? Otherwise it's not perfect or wasn't preserved.
Who said you were to tell god how to do anything? I merely drew examples from what we're familiar with. If a good earthly father wouldn't think of torturing his children for all eternity no matter how bad they were, why would a perfect heavenly father do that?
I think it's sad that you (claim to) believe you deserve to be tortured to a point you couldn't even fathom, and endure that for all eternity. That sounds like an issue. Do you say that because you've heard some preacher say it, or do you honestly believe you are among the most vile of all humanity, equal to child rapists, and others who commit such horrible acts?
I don't think you actually believe that though. I've heard people say that before, and I think they just parrot it. Besides, no christian believes they will go to hell because they've been "washed in the blood of Jesus," so it's easy to say it. It's just lip service. If you got up to heaven and god said, "you kept saying you deserved to go to hell, so I'm going to let you go there forever." I bet you'd argue that you had accepted Jesus and he was supposed to have paid for your sins.
