no. christianity is all about belief. you can be the most selfish piece of shit fuck up ever and screw people over your entire life, but as long as you believe that jesus is your lord and savior, and repent for your sins so that you'll be saved by god's grace, you're a good christian who's getting hooked up with sweet sweet heaven.

judaism is more along the lines of what you described, which places most of its emphasis on actions and states that being a good jew means being a good person and doing good things.


christianity is a great religion for stupid or selfish people who don't give a fuck about anybody else and don't want to take responsibility for their actions, yet still want to feel good about themselves and their lives. I WANT TO ADD that almost all of the christians i know ARE good people. REPEAT. MOST CHRISTIANS ARE GOOD PEOPLE. but christianity doesn't deserve to be respected as a religion because it enables one to thrive spiritually despite acting in antisocial and morally reprehensible ways.


judaism is a great religion for smarter and more cooperative people, because it doesn't try to crucify you for not believing every little thing that the book teaches. you don't see many jews fighting to get the teaching of evolution banned from schools . Instead being a good jew means following the 10 commandments and other instructive teachings, that ultimately result in a well-functioning society. That is why judaism is awesome, because its teachings try to bring holiness and prosperity to life on earth, instead of just preparing you for an afterlife. There are also a lot of self-proclaimed jews who are really bad people and who do bad things. But according to canon, they are not real jews, or at least not good ones.

You believe the biblical teachings of Jesus, yet half of the time He is walking around claiming to be the Son of God? So which is it? Is He lying or is He crazy or is He the Son of God? If He is not God then He has to be one or the other. He claimed that He could forgive sins and He says He always existed. He says He is coming to judge the world. A man who is just a man who says the things that Jesus said is not a great teacher/prophet. He never left that option for us.

Well, I don't know about "half the time", but jesus did refer to himself as "Son of God" a handful of times (maybe 4 or 5). He referred to himself as "son of man" far more often (probably 70 or more times). The term "son of man" is used far more times in the bible, and commonly used to refer to god's prophets. Angels are called sons of god, Job is referred to as a son of god, the bible says "as many as receive him" and "as many as are lead by the spirit" can ALL become sons of god! Paul called the Philippians to be "blameless and harmless, the sons of God." John said, "what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God." In Jesus' geneology in Luke chapter 3, he is referred to as the son of joseph, and Adam is referred to as the son of God.

Aren't we all "sons and daughters of god"?

Jesus prayed to god. when asked about the end of days, he said no one knows, not even the angel, not even him, but only God. If he was god surely he would have known?

I think in the re-writings a few things were overlooked. Overall they did a great job at Nicea though. Those priests spent a lot of time going over the collective scriptures, picking and choosing and re-writing to assemble the bible that some today call the infallable word of god.
