If you don't believe Jesus Christ was/is God...

perhaps to you I should ask, would you consider that person a christian?
You believe the biblical teachings of Jesus, yet half of the time He is walking around claiming to be the Son of God? So which is it? Is He lying or is He crazy or is He the Son of God? If He is not God then He has to be one or the other. He claimed that He could forgive sins and He says He always existed. He says He is coming to judge the world. A man who is just a man who says the things that Jesus said is not a great teacher/prophet. He never left that option for us.
What if you follow the biblical teachings of Jesus, and you believe in god but you go around being half assed, for example bunch of religions if you ask for forgiveness for your sins you get forgiven, and peeps go out and do it again and ask for forgiveness.... rinse and repeat on "church days"
Well, Jews wouldn't call themselves christians, I suppose one could say they follow his teachings, but I doubt a Jew would tell you that since they don't read the NT. But, Jesus was a Jew, and he did teach and follow the Torah, so while not yet knowing, they might be following the teachings of Jesus, and certainly not admitting to it, they might in fact BE following his teachings. Did that make sense?

I don't think it's textbook judaism, no. If the Jews don't think of Christ as a messiah, and don't use the NT, would they think of any NT character as a prophet? Maybe? I'm not sure.

Sounds like most christians I know.
Since the origin of christ is probably the Sanskrit Krishna, then there have been many 'annointed ones' through the ages..any of whom could be called christians. I would call anyone who seeks logos (in it's philosophical sense~ that of pondering the cosmos through whichever discipline suits them from physics to religion) a christian.
