Sorry I got defensive. That is my nature. Trying to curb it. ceo, I don't know what your purpose is, but whatever it is you are trying to sell, you won't sell it to me because your posts harden me to anything you have to say. What I think is great about Christianity is that I feel like I have a common bond with those out there that believe in a god or gods, at least we all have a piece of it if god is real. Don't send me some cutsey k msg either saying how you are trying to stir up contro in chat either. You treat me on the board like you treat me in private in k msg or we wont be friends on here. You can't be a dick to me in public and be friends w/ me in private. Talk w/ me respectfully without those passive aggressive smiley fuckin faces and we can talk about this stuff and I'll be open to what you have to say. So far, you don't say much about your faith (if any?) and it surprises me because most men like to talk and talk about themselves. I prefer thatI want to hear what you have to say w/o you tearing me down in the process. Is what you believe not enough to stand on facts/wisdom/understanding without you having to tear me down in the process with your personal attacks on what you are "guessing" is going on in my heart/mind or what you are "guessing" have been my personal experiences?
It all comes down to knowledge/faith. Faith faith faith. That's what all these threads/debates/conversations come to. I can be stimulated in this way at church, or on other message boards with similiarly minded people and they are way more interesting. I have nothing else to contribute to this thread.
Like I told omega when he accidentally sent me a PM meant for someone else, saying how I "have excessive pride when it comes to religion stuff" (lol). I don't have excessive pride, I just have excessive questions. I've looked into many of them too.
I'm not trying to sell you or anyone anything when it comes to the matter except to perhaps, question. You found conflicting verses. GREAT! Look into it. Question it. Find an answer if you can. I believe most of them are out there. I've known a lot of very intelligent people who don't do that. They just keep blindly going along the same spiritual path.
Not trying to be a dick. I use the smileys to try to convey that I'm not trying to be a dick actually. I can be quite animated in discussion, but I'm sure it would come across better in person. That's one problem with having these convos via teh interwebs. There's so much more that could be said that is just too much to type...and the shit I type is too damn long already!
And I thought I already talked about what I believe? I will tell you again that I don't believe you "deserve hell". When I said that by you saying that, don't you think you are saying Christ's sacrifice was in vein? I wasn't trying to incite you. I'm putting on my "christian hat" and saying (at the risk this will come across poorly again), if his sacrifice was enough once, and all that needs to be done from that point on is to ask forgiveness of sins (because no greater sacrifice can be made), and someone has done that...how then can they say they deserve hell? That would seem to be saying that the sacrifice was insufficient. Instead, you deserve heaven because you accepted that sacrifice. Right? Does that make sense? I hope that came across better.
