It is not trying to win back land or gain more land. It just wants peace. It is negotiating for MERE peace. Palestinians are trying GAIN land that is simply NOT theirs. Israel has killed civilians for sure. THey do not target them. If they go into a town to get terrorists and 20 kids are accidently killed. Thats tough shit and a hell of alot different than if a suicide bombers ONLY goal is to kill civilians.

Werent indians driven from their homes also and killed? it happens in history. Israel will stop all of it NOw, if you just give them peace and take 90 percent of what was offered. The last thing the arabs want is a war with israel because they know they cant win.

It has everything to do with the history of this conflict, which is laid out in great detail in the Old Testament. Don't take my word for it, check it out for yourself. Try the book of Joshua, Chapters 7-10. It details the earliest of conflicts in that part of the world, why they took place and who it involved. It continues today.

Also, remember the Israelites were not the agressors in the war that led to the occupation of the West Bank and Golan Heights. They merely defended by fighting the attacking Arabs, and kicked their asses back and held territory as a defensive measure.

When Arab nations merely acknowledge Israel's right to exist they can have the land back. As long as they vow to destroy Israel (which they now do), they can live as refugees.

You are right, you do need to brush up on your history. Be advised however, history didn't begin in 1940, and neither did this conflict.
