what is a good amount of fiber you need each day? and also, how many cup(s) of broccoli do u need to satisfyt his amount??

if you can move your bowels easily, you are fine-don't count every single gram-and oatmeal is a better source for fiber than anything else when cutting

Diamond i'm sick and tired of you passin horrible advice like this... seriously... You need 30g of fiber a day. Oatmeal is NOT the best. Don't listen to this guy please! He misleads just about everyone.

YOU ARE ENTITLED TO YOUR OPINION-I AM ENTITLED TO MINE

Yeah Diamond true... but an "opinion" is just that... anyone can come and throw out b.s. opinions. I just have a problem w/ opinions that contradict facts and theories based on some research. Your version of a fact is... "oh if you have a problem taking a dump then uh... yeah maybe you need some fiber" It's stuff like that, that you do all the friggin time. Get a clue before you mislead people...

When I get constipated, I take some citrucel or eat some beans or prunes, all of the above work for me, results may vary for others

I usually get 30-50 grams per day, sometimes I'll only get 25. I will not go under 25g per day.

Risky, you'll have to remember that Diamond once said that you can't loose any weight if you're eating carbs.

riskybizz i know exactly what u mean i dont listen to his ONE LINE posts nemore just so he can up his post count.

but newayz, how many grams of fiber is in one cup of broccoli?

There is no exact # you can give because it will depend on a lot of factors (the individual, total caloric intake, amount of other macronutrients etc.). The best estimate I can give from what I have read is 10-15 grams of fiber per 1000 calories. I try to stay at least towards the upper end of that estimate.
