Ok MM what is that?

That is what is known as a Teardrop Trailer. They were really popular after WWII and sort of faded away and are now making a comeback. A lot of people are also refurbishing/rehabbing original ones.

The newer ones have convenience features, like the built in A/C, running water tanks, lots of electrical hookups. You can make your own, the plans are on the internet for purchase, but hubby and I don't have the space or time to do the job.

The only really bad part about camping is going to piddle in the middle of the night ... especially when it's raining, that's a drag. Otherwise, camping is the most relaxing vacation, you can watch the critters, sit around the fire, look at the stars ...

I've done both, pop-up trailer (it was a monster, actually had a slide out dinette) and then had to get rid of that when we moved and had nowhere to park it. We had a 35' travel trailer on a seasonal site on a campground that we've had for the past 6 years. We've also had a BIG tent (Coleman Weathermaster, SOB is 17' long) for other camping trips. We've gotten tired of the whole setup/takedown rigamarole that you have with tents and popups and our car doesn't have the umph to tow a bigger trailer. And we're tired of being tied to the seasonal site.

We pared it down to what we need: A bed, the ability to have it packed and be able to just hitch and go, the ability to put it in our garage or backyard. I don't mind cooking outdoors, we have an EZ-Up shelter so life is good.

I used to camp when I was younger and less neurotic. I need sheets, bathroom and a warm shower.
I do love camp fires though.

we've been to six different parks this season so far and 2 or 3 more to go before October
