Got a parking ticket in my own driveway.

you broke the rules, doesnt matter by how much you still broke them. Just pay the ticket. Your not going to get excuses because it was "only a little bit on the pavement" they have to draw the line somewere...

I get that. But it was at my own house. It's completely absurd.

dabuffguy a few questions and observations:
-when you first came here, i remember redding you cause you said you found
swearing offensive or something like that lol...and now i see you swearing.
-how old are you bro? still going to school, fuk i thought you were older
with a bigass mormon family.
-do feel guilt allegedly stashing joose at the folks house? i would
discuss

It doesn't bother me when people swear except when people use J.C. on a forum.

I don't like bad language face to face and I don't use bad language in front of anyone, and expect people to do the same to me.

25, yep still going to school. Going for a masters, Mechanical Engineering. Not married.

I don't stash joose at my parents house.

dude i thought you were older, you seem pretty mature.
and i am zero religious, but i try not to use JC's name in vain...just seems disrepectful.
and honestly, just pay the ticket...clearly you are in the sidewalk and public domain dictates it's public property.
you know this to be true :)

So, I got a ticket for parking in my own driveway. There are 5 vehicles at my current residence in an upscale suburban neighborhood.

The sidewalk goes through my driveway, and splits it in half. My car was parked behind my SUV, and the rear tires were on "the sidewalk". If you go further down, it's my private driveway again. There is nowhere else for me to park really, except for the street, which is also illegal to park on until May 1st because of snow plow regulatory bullshit.

So, I have a pink parking violation on my windshield this morning when I went to go to work for "parking on sidewalk".

This go tme a ticket:

We've had vehicles parked over the sidewalk there for the last 14 years, and all of the sudden a cop wants to be a fucking dick and write a ticket for it?

Funny thing is, I have a neighbor parked on the street (illegal until May 1st) and another neighbor with a car who's rear of the body is also over the sidewalk and neither of them recieved parking violations. I took pictures of them too.

Fuck the police. The judge will be dismissing this $25 "violation". I don't even care about 25 bucks so much as I do the police going around and fucking up our neighborhodd and pissing people off with this shit while crime rates are increasing, even though it has one of the lowest crime rates in the country around in my particular area.

Meanwhile, there has been a series of vandalisms, (tagging and shit) and break ins, which until now has NEVER happened in this neighborhood. Time well spent "Serving and Protecting" our community, fucking douche.

Looks ke an Ivory community.

We all have that kind of thing happen sometimes, and there are 2 choices: fight it or pay it. When I'm faced with that, I consider how much time it might take to fight it, and how much money is my time worth out of the business day... That doesn't fix the anger we feel though. Cops are humans, and maybe that one didn't get laid the night before, and was suffering blue ballz, or maybe the Department of Building & Safety condemned his furnace... Who knows, but if you believe in karma, you can wind up thinking of this as a benefit somehow.

And although you have been parking that way for a long time, and you probably weren't blocking anybody (as long as you didn't see a disabled veteran wheeling his way out into the street to go around, etc), you were morally doing nothing wrong and don't deserve a ticket or any hassle. But technically, what can I say. There's a traffic signal on Hwy 118 near our ranch, which is always red for no reason. I can see flat, plain and clear for miles that there is no traffic, so I run the light routinely. But I know that some day, I'll get a ticket. That's my choice, and I won't be angry when it happens.
