Would it damage his bankability at the box office? Would directors think twice about casting him as a leading man? Maybe, maybe not...but because no one knows, he's got the right to defend himself against any alligations.

I would have to put my money on "Yes, it would damage his career." Actually, I think it would without a doubt, especially considering the leading man roles he plays and his legions of female fans.

Of course it would damage their career. Look what Rock Hudson had to do; he never admitted he was gay until the end of his life because he was told he would lose his career. So he married a few times to cover it up….hmmmmm……sound familiar. No producer would ever hire Tom Cruise again or Vin Diesel, as leading men, if they came out and said they were gay. They would be relegated to parts as Madonna’s “Gay Friend” in all he movies or be stuck doing gay independent films that no one but gays watch. Libarachi (spelling?) was so afraid of his career being over if he came out he never did, not even on his deathbed, even though he had a boy friend. There are so many gay people out there, I am not sure of the ratio of straight to gay but come on if there are closeted gay bankers, why can their not be closeted gay actors. People are not jealous when they say these guys are gay they just hear rumor and repeat them and some rumors turn out to be based on truth and some are not.
