Do you consider skinny/thin out of shape?

I'm not fat, i'm not extremely skinny. I'm right in between at a comfortable 155lbs. I wear all smalls, usually and a 30 inch waist. Does that make me "out of shape?"

i think it depends...there are some skinny people who are out of shape, but some that are fit.

how much can you bench? how many pullups can you do? how fast can you run a 5K?

As long as you're not one of those "skinny fat" people you're fit by conventional standards. If you really want to know if you're really fit then take a Marince Corps or Army physical fitness test and see how you measure up.

My cousins are skinny, like 128lbs @ 5'9 skinny but they run marathons so I wouldn't call them out of shape by any means. My husband used to be skinny but he always maxed his PT tests and did a lot of hikes and he was not outta shape.

You sound like a regular Pretzel Boy.

Gee, I think even May1010 weighed more than you. Come to think of it, NJSerious weighed more than you.

Sounds like HI is going to have a field day on your ass.

(bodyweight gives no indication of fitness levels.)

very good answers. I have been skinny all my life, with the exception of the buddha belly. in clothes you coldn't tell, and people would just scream at me telling me to eat. I never worked out. I am finally putting on some desirable pounds, and losing the belly. and now, I am in shape. back then I wasn't.

I consider myself light....but not skinny. I have a small bone structure and very low bodyfat compared to average people. Where someone with 17 inch arms may be bigger than me...mine are all muscle.:D

When I think of fitness, I think of cardio fitness not muscular fitness. So if a person is skinny, I don't consider them unfit.

I ran with a bunch of guys on the track team that were fit as hell and likely skinnier than most on here.
some of them were strong as fuck for the bodyweight too.

I'm with Haz, I go by cardio fitness over just look. and to the next level, since I come from a track background, I have a skewed outlook and generally go by how fast people are :)
