Cyclical Isocaloric Diet? Opinions? (Par Deus)

Alright I have a few concerns... the first being what does the protein, carb, and fat make up each diet day have to be? From everything I ever read about a CKD or a TKD the rest of the diet days were made up of Atkin's type meals..

Should I stick with this or no?

Thanks for the link Par Deus..

:D:D
Ill check it out. I am confused though as to HOW OFTEN I should do a refeed...

Par Deus-
I just checked out the Google Newsgroup that you pointed and DAMN theres a LOT of info over there shit.. I am just so confused..

I understand the principles of Cyclical Isocaloric dieting.. but I am confused as to what the macronutrient breakdown of EACH day should be. On the refeed it should be around 20-50% higher then maintenance calories, 1g protein per pound of bodyweight, etc. etc. Low fat and low fructose, etc.

But still on the dieting days I dont get it.. how many days should diet before refeeding? When should you train?? On the dieting or refeeding days? If your refilling glycogen on the refeed day wouldnt your BEST workout be on the day after a refeed, very similarly to a CKD..

The way I did it was 36 hours of dieting and 12 hours of refeeding. I would start the refeed 4-6 hours before a workout.

Alright but what about your macronutrient ratios? And what about calories? Youd only workout every 2 days?

:confused::confused:
Please help me out bro.

"Isocaloric" should be pretty self-explanatory.

25% below maintenence while dieting, 50% above on the refeed.

Par Deus-
Yeah alright I got that part of it.. but what kind of specific macronutrient breakdown should I be using though? Okay for example look at the following....

3375 maintenance calories (weigh 225 lbs.)
2550 dieting calories
5000 refeed calories

Par Deus-
Okay bro a few questions that I am hoping you could PLEASE answer..

#1 For fat loss, what is my best bet for how many days of dieting and how many days/hours refeeding. You said 36 hours dieting and 12 hours refeeding - is this my best bet for maximum fat loss?

#2 What kind of specific macronutrient breakdown should each diet day be?

#3 For the refeed I am assuming 1g protein per pound of bodyweight, and the rest high-glycemic carbs with minimal fat? This is just an assumption. I am not sure if you recommend switching over to slow-burning, low-glycemic carbs 1/2 way through the refeed.

#4 What kind of muscle-building supplements do you recommend? (e.g.- creatine, glutamine, whey protein, etc.) For the refeed do you suggest loading with creatine, and then on the dieting days maintaining the creatine?

#5 What type of training routine would best suit this type of diet? You said 36 hours -> 12 hours refeed. Would it be best to train during the 36 hours and then take a day off?

#6 What about cardio? Should I do it every morning? How does cardio correlate with the refeed days.

I respect what you say Par Deus more than almost anyone else so please help me out and be specific. I know you probably think I am getting annoying but just please answer these questions.

MonStar1023 -

Par Deus has already told you the macronutrient breakdown:

iso - "same"
caloric - "calories"

Isocaloric = same calories = 33%protein, 33%fat, 33%carbs

If I may make an observation, you tend to ask questions but not listen to the answers. Why, in response to your first question, would Par Deus give you a non-optimal refeed pattern, other than he himself probably doesn't have enough experience to know? He has stated on a number of occasions that all of his observations on a cyclical isocaloric diet are available on misc.fitness.weights. Having perused the archives myself I think you're pretty much on your own. Few people have tried the diet, so you'll have to experiment. You seem to worry about doing things in an "optimal way" and in the short time I've been here have flitted between an Animalbolics diet, a CKD, and now to a cyclical isocaloric diet. Pick one approach and stick with it. Even if it's not optimal you'll get far better results than if you're constantly switching. Not meaning to be an asshole here, just trying to give you some food for thought.
