My cat rules!!!!! He is trained to go outside. He has his own pet door. NEVER once had an accident inside. He is a cool MOFO. I rescued him from the pound. He has bowlegs and is getting BIG!

I have trained my cat to come when she is called by her name, she sits on command, she lays down on command, and meows twice for milk(when I show her the bottle).... she is a crazy little cat. She has her front claws removed but still climbs the door casings... she also lays in the bathroom sink while the water is running until she is completely covered...

i'm a cat person...i like dogs, too, but i don't have the time or home space to keep one.

if you're going to throw in only negative about cats and all the positives of dogs, you're being unfair.

some counterpoints on dogs:

dogs jump on your company and generally make for an all around uncomfortable situation when you have guests over. i can't tell you how many times i've been mauled by a host's dog and i'm sitting there like...ok can you your dog off me please.
dogs take their noses and stick them right in the crotches of your company and force everyone into another uncomfortable situation.
you don't hear about cat attacks on the news that result in death.
dogs can't use litter boxes and need to be walked and you have to pick up their poop unless you are trashy and leave it in other people's yards.
dogs have to lick you 24 hours a day. no thanks.
cats don't hump your company's leg.
dogs smell a lot worse than cats do.

each pet has its trade offs. cats have shitty qualities, as do dogs.

i've heard so many stories of incredible loyalty from dogs to their owners. they kick ass. cats are good for catching mice though. have to give em that. dogs dont mind mice that much for some reason.

You did make some negative points about dogs that are valid. But if you keep your dog outside it negates several of them.

Now please list the "positive attributes about cats. I will go ahead and give you the mice thing but name another. (Although I would like a 30 rat to get rid of my cat)

When I was growing up we always had both a dog and a cat. Back home right now we have three dogs and two cats. Its really a toss up for me, I really can't decide which one I like better. I mean, all those reasons are indeed valid, but there are some good things about a kitty. The way they purr in your ear, how they curl up around your feet or lay on your chest. I miss my babies!!
