Can Vegtables Healthy???

Well we all know that the best vegtables are Fresh Vegtables, not frozen or canned... well OBVIOUSLY TRUE......

However, canned veggies are fresh vegtables just packaged into a can and sealed air tight, right?

I looked into a can of corn or something and seen the ingredients as corn, water, and salt (no preservatives or added ingredients). Other than a little added salt, wouldn't these still be very healthy? After all - they're air-tight?

Interestingly, I read on a "Libbys" or other brand that there was a study done and canned veg's are just as healthy as fresh veg's! well I dont beleive 100% but prob very close...

What does everyone think about this?
Why do "Cans" get such a bad rap?

Canned vegetables

* are usually full of salt (as a preservative)
* have been cooked a loong time (which destroy a lot of vitamins)

Frozen vegetables are wayyyyyyyyy better (for your health and for the taste)

Very true bro. Alot of poeple have a misconseption that frozen vegtables are not very healthy, which is wrong. When you each as much broccili as i do, frozen is the way to go.

Yep, go with fresh or frozen whenever possible. But...a can of green beans isn't gonna hurt much either.

Canned vegetables are better than nothing, but frozen is so much better.

I also find that they taste a lot better than canned vegetabls as well.

Well you know how anything that is frozen (like Fish) gets a bad rap since they say once something is frozen it is not the same quality.

And since can veggies were never frozen, I thought they would be better than frozen......Guess this is a lesson learned in veggies 101 :p

Most good quality frozen veggies are frozen almost immediately after being harvested and so retain a large proportion of the nutritional value that they had when fresh.

frozen vegetables could even be fresher than "fresh" ones as those one could stay for a long time in the supermarket and in your fridge
