what the problem of anti-gun people? I started being anti-gun when I was shot at when I was 17

But it look like it a what piss me off thread. Well what piss me off is that CNN
is showing image of soldier walking and they say "Oh these Elite Forces are the cream, and the power of the American Armed Forces the lalalala and lalalala"
when in fact they have Canadian C7, Aussies Minimi, Aussie gears, British mortars
HEY they were Aussies, and Canuck just behind them, crushing a Taliban position!

And they were saying only the US was in that war!

What about the Japanese, the Turk, The French, the Brits, the Canadian, The German, the Aussies, the Kiwi, the Belgian, the Russian and I pass.

Oh well, its only CNN

Jesus Christ, they are showing their support, get off them. So what, I just said jesus christ and don't believe in him. Most of the punks flying flags are the ones raised by Nam Vets that gave their kids all they wanted and the kids ended up thinking everything in this world they got was deserved. The world now is fickle, be happy it went in the right direction this time.

I agree that it's a bit hokey and kind of 'gross' in a way because a lot of it is the "in" thing to do more-so than actual patriotism...I have mixed feelings about the flag, I will wave it in support of what the USA stands for originally but I really think this govt. needs to be RE-freshed.

Disagree if you must. But, us New Yorkers have experienced a very painful tradgedy <thinking about my friends that are gone>.

I see the flag FLYING EVERYWHERE here and I am damn proud. We are all on the same side for once. And we're letting each other know it.

Vietnam was a different time and place. My Pops was in Vietnam and he's told me about what it was like. The man SIGNED UP for 3 tours of duty. He's moved on....so should we. This isn't meant to take away from any wrondoings or righteous act from years past.

We're at where we are (as Pops like to say). We need to deal with it. If it takes 1000's of Americans to die, then, very unfortunately, that's what it takes.

Now is a time to be together. Get with it brother.

And you have every right to be proud when you see it flying. And you are right, I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like to have lived through that experience.

I am all for the country pulling together and being patriotic, I just don't think that attaching a 3X5 flag to my car necessarily equates to patriotism.

Same side, just different opinions.

Maybe Sept 11 served as a wake up call to those people who had forgotten what it means to be American. It's amazing how a common enemy attacking you can pull people together.

yeah, you pretty much have to look at it that way, although i feel the same as mp5. just be glad people are coming around to support the u.s. i even gave my brother in law a "shame on you" for only now flying a flag on his truck. he admitted that i was right, and that he did, in fact, wake up.

and i don't even fly a flag. but i can tell y'all that i put i put ALOT of ass-busting in for this country all the time. and have been.

I like how 95% of the population did not own a flag and now that we are fiddle fucking around in some dirt country they are all patriots. Most of these people were probably the same fuckers that were anti gun, anti constitution and spit on the NAM vets.

now I see these tear jerking commercials where people are recording their messages and sending them to the soldiers saying thanks. What a fucking joke! We threw a ticker tape parade for desert storm vets and spit on the ones who fought in Vietnam, like it was their fucking choice to be there!

i think a lot of people realized that the soldiers in nam got a bad rap and now they want to make sure they show all the support they can.. damn hippies.

not that I'm defending it, or even trying - but it was different for a long time, and then with vietnam the war was literally brought into the living room of America and they saw how horrible it was and hence the backlash against it.
since then there are now several factors that lesson that - a combination of desensitzation (sp?) and media regulation during wartime...
