Homer Simpsons character comes from this as well. (his job atleast)
I wasn't alive when this happened, and most of you were too young to remember. I don't expect many of you to find this interesting, but I did.

Because no one wants an oil refinery or nuclera reactor in their backyard. And far away places, indians don't want them either.

So we all want to import it from other countries and pay up the nose for it. So people shojuldn't bitch about oil/gas/electricity prices. You can't have it both ways.

LOL @ Boosh telling othe countries not to build nuclear reactors or "else". Or else what? lol.

80 percent of the frenchies get their power from nukes. WE should start it up again, but we never will.

You know, I'm surprised you haven't banned cars given all the traffic accidents over there.

Three Mile Island is a poor representation of the Nuclear Power industry. The US Navy has been using GE and Westinghouse reactors for 50 years now without incident. As long as coal remains cheap though, there won't be a large outcry for Nuclear Reactors to contradict the Jane Fonda's of the world running around yelling "the Reactor's going critical!" Hey, you stupid bitch, the reactor is supposed to be critical, that's when it is running at peak efficiency. That just means that all of the Neutrons leaving the fissile material are transferring their energy to the water molecules in the moderator.

www.google.com?

:cow:

last plant 1996, not all that long ago.
But you're right in the fact that according to wiki their are plans for more. Sorry for my ignorance, the point still holds true in that we would be better off actually using this power source. So if France has 80% from nuclear, we must have 5% if that. I'll look for an actual number. We have a nuclear power plant that was made and then never opened here in New York.
The amount of money wasted, holy shit.
