Back when I shared the same perception of the world as straight people - before I came out of the closet - I would have agreed with you.

It is true that many gay guys suffer from wishful thinking. But you'd be surprised by how many apparently straight men will indulge in same sex activities (i'm guessing 1 out of 3) when a safe opportunity arises. I mean married men, I mean guys who are legends among their friends for all their female conquests, i mean all those gym jocks and football players. This is why gay men keep paying attention to straight men. There is always the possiblity that Mr. Hunky isn't so straight or that he's one of these 1/3 of guys.

The number of times people have sworn to me black and blue that this or that person couldn't possibly have any homosexual curiousities just makes me laugh - especially when I know first hand that is not the case. The ex-girlfriend of a guy I had a fling with said to me "James couldn't possibly be interested in guys - he hates gays", LOL. There are more exapmles I could share.

There is some truth to the old gay adage that the only difference between a straight man and a gay man is a 6 pack of beer.
