@ tuc.......your Window Media Player should play and record MPEG files as well as WMV files. Look in your settings and adjust accordingly.

In your Windows Media Player ( Tools -> options) menu.......it should have the default settings for what you can record and save under the MPEG, JPEG and WMV filenames.
