Why is Broccoli so popular in bodybuilding?

I see every copy/paste diet on the internet for bodybuilders say the same thing. It is always a meat, some rice or other carb and then broccoli. I've honestly never eaten the stuff before so I am curious what is so special about it, and why it is always pushed so much. And also how do you cook it to include it in your meals?
 
yeah you would think there would be a difference veggie out there but the reason i think is its so easy to make. just boil it for 10 minutes

brocolli also contains something called indole3carbinol which is great for fighting cancer. in fact all plant based foods should be increased. in blue zones 95% of their diets are plant based.. the american diet? maybe 5% plant based at most. and many eat none
 
Broccoli is my go-to veggie too. I'm really not sure why other than I like it and it is loaded with vitamins and nutrients.
