I have never been a morning person. But lately it has gotten worse. I wake up, am wide awake for a few hours then CRASH. This is atleast 3 of 5 days per week at work, if not more, but no less than 3 days a week. I literally just dose off for a few seconds, my head drops whatever way. I may get a second wind and wake up for about a hour sometimes but then sure enough around 1-3pm I am back to the same way again. I must admit my sleeping patterns are jacked. I only get 4-6hrs a night, I dont go to bed until 12-2am and then wake up at 6am or so. I sleep in until 2-4pm on the weekends. Some days I can absolutely not make it through w/ out caffeine. Is there more to this than my sleeping patterns? Should I get on Ambien or see a doc regarding this to look into it? Could anything else be causing this? Thanks.

maybe you are overtraining
or not eating enough
or have hypoglycemia

Overtraining, undereating, blood-sugar problems......

You don't need medicine, just change your workout/eating/sleeping pattern.

diabetes?

If it is blood sugar/hyoglycemia that is causing it, does this mean I should get checked for diabetes? If this a symptom? thanks.

It's probably not diabetes, but wasn't your doctor the guy that said protein stunts your growth?

Hypoglycemia is much different, all you have to do is keep you card intake steady. What's your diet like now?

i can relate....

i blame it partially on the fact that i am in front of a computer all day... i try to get up and walk around every chance i get.

even if i am sleeping and eating well, still get tired around 3 or 4 everyday.

drink a lot of water, so you have to get up and go to the bathroom. besides, being properly hydrated will probably help.

also, an ECA after lunch helps me.

desk jobs suck sometimes....
