spices and seasoning in your diet

I was wondering if spices in your meals can affect your goals on loosing weight, if they do which one are healthiest to consume and to cook and which
one you have to avoid, thanks.

Spices as such should not affect one's diet, so they are safe to use for cooking. However, you need to read carefully the labels on them, because many will carry salt in them, and you don't want that in your diet.

Some spices and peppers will actually aid (if only on small scale) weight loss. A few of the hotter ones are midly thermogeinc. That means they raises the body core temp a fraction and so could be said to be 'fat burning'. In fact, some are included in fat burner type products.

Spices/herbs have no calories. Just be careful because some pre-made spice blends have sugar added. You have to be especially careful with condiments because a lot of condiments like BBQ sauce, salad dressing etc are LOADED with calories.

Your best bet is to buy individual spices/herbs and make your own spice blend.

Try adding garlic powder, oregano and fresh lemon juice to your chicken. It gives it a greek taste. Really good and refreshing.

Spices are a great option. They are much better than some of the more calorie dense sauces that are sugar based like BBQ. The only sauce I really use liberally is hot sauce.
