Sodium in Chicken
Excerpt: I've been trying to cut out some sodium from my diet, but I am worried about the chicken I've been eating. I can find chicken with anywhere between 180-250mg sodium per 4 oz, but when you are eating 12-16 oz every 2-3 hours it can add up. Are there any ways to get rid of some of the salt? I found breasts with only 40mg/4oz, but they are twice the price, and as a college student, can't do it. Any thoughts as to how to reduce the sodium in the chicken breasts? Thanks

Re: Sodium in Chicken
Either boil it or soak it. The sodium will enter the water from the chicken.

Re: Sodium in Chicken
get some boneless skinless ck breasts and cook em up once a week and have em in ur fridge all week! that way u dont have to worry about the salt since that canned ck is full of sodium..

Re: Sodium in Chicken
Unprocessed beef, pork ,lamb and chicken all have about 80 -120 mg of sodium per 6 oz serving.
