I've been out action for a while with both upper and lower body injuries and until the docs give me the green light, it looks like I have to stay put (and its making me crazy!) It also looks like my bodyfat is on the rise while I soften up.

So my question is, what are your dieting tips while staying inactive? I'm not a newbie when it comes to nutrition but I feel like I could use some creative advice to lean out if at all possible. Do you think any stims or supplements could be effective in this situation?

2 i.u. hgh daily. keep carbs reasonable, but don't go nutso....... carbs regulate serotonin and you're a smart guy and you no what happens when the ole happy chemicals drop. especialy under your current circumstances. pay attention to the
type of carbs and stick to low glycemic.

keep the stress to a minimum, elevated cortisol will put the lb's on you in a hurry.

try to burn some calories without re-injuring yourself. do what you can within your limits.

drink black coffee with a baby aspirin. great thermogenic and cheap as dirt.

you know, i have been a total stress case the past while, especially since being sidelined. it didnt even cross my mind, but taking something for cortisol control would probably make a lot of sense.

Eat like a Bird ( only when hungry)

Walk 3-4 times a week, and do pushups 2-3 times a week if possible

Also what LB said

the way it stands right now i cant do much unless im dosed up on pain killers. i got the mri results back for one of the injuries and need to go over them with the specialist, so we'll see what the treatment/recovery time is.

i have been eating real light lately, but i dunno.. its frustrating.

i should have put that pool in my backyard when i had the chance.

The cortizol blocker is a good idea! mabe a cissus product to speed injury recovery... It works for me for fat loss... also green tea extract will help boost your metabolism and keep you from feeling too lagged out from not doing anything. I dont know if you cant do anything or just cant do anything heavy, but when i first starded to recover from surgery on my pec i did really light complexes. I just used a 50 pound barbell and would bench row clean and press and squat 3X10 3 times a week and it helped a lot. Its no bodybuilding routine but it helped keep me from getting to far out of shape and at least made it feel like my muscles would still use my food instead of just getting fat while at least giving me a little activity.

what did you do?

I was laid up in bed for 3 months after getting hit by a Car

do a modified Keto Diet, but add in carbs for mood as LB added

Good rule of thumbs would be veggies and protein in every meal

the background is that i have a thoracic back injury and a foot injury. its been months now and i dont seem to be healing.

i had been training hard, but i cant think of one specific event that triggered the injuries. at first i thought i had a stress fracture on the foot, but it turns out to be soft tissue damage (the joints are ok though.) i read the mri report with my primary doc and neither of us understand it. also did some digging online and couldnt find good info. i just have to wait for the specialist to weigh in on it.

the back injury is also mysterious, i saw a back specialist who hooked up cortizone injections and rehab, both were ineffective. i cant even lie on my right side.

so being that its 2 soft tissue injuries happening at relatively the same time without specific trauma, i think im gonna get some blood work done.
