I really like to eat sea-weed, and I wonder if it isok to eat in large quantities? What health benefits should it begiving me, if any? I mean, I like it, but if there are healthierfoods, I'd rather opt for them.
 
If you are already eating it, keep doing so - it is stuffed with vitamins and healthy minerals, so it is definitely a good thing to eat. However, remember that moderation is key, and it is needed even with healthy things. Therefore, eat it, but don't go all crazy with it.

One more question - do I have to worry about mercury like you do with fish?
 
There is no mercury in seaweed. Mercury is only present in animal foods.

You can eat seaweed in unlimited quantities. It is an extremely healthy food in every way.
