rice bulking and constipation

adleyBrm

rice causes me constipation, I was wondering if I start lifting that would accelerate my digestion and metabolism and I can be able to eat rice again since it's important for bulking.

I'm confused. You're trying to bulk without lifting?
But yea. Lifting should increase your metabolism. But if a food source doesn't agree with you, that may not change.

Constipation is generally due to -
1. Not eating enough fibre.
2. Not drinking enough water

Rice is a great complex carbohydrate source to use in bulking diets but it is very low in fibre. Make sure to include fibrous vegetables like kale, spinach, celery, etc. into your diet to get your fibre intake.

I would also recommend using a fibre supplement. Psyllium husk is the highest natural food source of soluble fibre you can obtain. The majority of the fibre you intake from your daily diet is insoluble fibre. The key benefit of soluble fibre is that soluble fibre absorbs water in your stomach and creates a gel. It gives your intestines a sort of 'internal scrubbing' as it passes through. It will help keep you regular and the faster you can remove toxins from your body, the less likely they are to be re-absorbed.

I take 10g of psyllium husk before bed each night.

Some people actually have issues with constipation when it comes to eating a lot of rice. Try to minimize the consumption of it and switch your carb sources to oats, pasta, noodles, wholegrain bread. If that does not help, there might be some problems with the flora of your digestive track.
